Wilson Elementary School

T&W  provided  a  Feasibility  Study  and  Construction  Management  services  for  the Wilson  Elementary  project.  Renovations  included a 5,700 SF addition for a new District Administration Office that freed up space at its formal location, Donaldson Elementary School. The  cafeteria  was  relocated  to  allow  the  preparation  of  student  meals  onsite  while restoring the full use of the gymnasium.

Enhancements to the school’s daylighting, such as new interior transom windows, skylights and LED  lighting,  were  implemented  to  increase  productivity,  and  reduce  energy  usage  and costs.   Open‐concept  classrooms  were  converted  into  closed  classrooms  to  increase acoustical  privacy  and  safety  while  a  “Collaboratory”  built  in  the  center  of  these spaces  encourages  more  group  activities.  The  library  was  redesigned  to  provide  a  more collaborative  and  creative  environment,  equipped  with  new  furniture  and  story‐telling areas. Upgrades to technology included 55‐inch monitors in every classroom.
