McKee Elementary School

McKee Elementary School was seeking various upgrades to their 86,000 SF facility as well as an addition that would support their current academic needs.

The existing open-layout classrooms became more flexible and collaborative when separated with a focus on noise reduction and safety. A Collaboratory for large group activities allows for students and teachers to work together while the new separate classrooms have improved acoustics and less distractions. Upgrades to technology, comfortable seating and ADA code compliance help to create a versatile, supportive learning environment for all.

Energy efficiency was achieved through new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems as well as new windows and skylights that increase daylight. The roof was also replaced for proper drainage and efficiency. A full-service kitchen and cafeteria were constructed to provide fresh meals for students on site.
